How to Check a Coil on a Motorcycle

Motorcycle coils are an essential component of the ignition system, responsible for converting low-voltage electrical energy into high-voltage energy to spark the combustion process in the engine. 2. Locate the Coil

3. Remove the Spark Plug Wires

Next, disconnect the spark plug wires from the coil. This will allow you to access the coil without interference. Be sure to note the order in which the wires were disconnected, as they should be reconnected in the same order.

4. Inspect the Coil’s External Condition

Once you’ve completed the inspection, reassemble the motorcycle by reconnecting the spark plug wires and replacing any damaged parts. Ensure that all bolts are securely tightened to the manufacturer’s specifications.
